East Cowes based boat builder Island RIBs launched their latest model, the Island 7.5m, at the Southampton Boat Show last month. Built by hand from original designs using brand new tooling, the Island 7.5m RIB was the first big product launch for this young company. Encouraged by the success of the Island 7.5m, the team have plans to continue expanding their range of new designs over the coming year.
“The response was really fantastic, beyond what we had hoped for,” says managing director Alex Cottle. “We had already sold three boats pre-launch so we were hoping for a good reception at the show. It is very exciting for us to have a product that we worked so hard to develop, be so well received. We have now employed another shipwright to enable us to increase production”.
