Celebrations for Ryde’s Performance in People…
Performance in People (PiP) is ecstatic to announce that we’ve not only been awarded with a place in the Top 100 Small Businesses to work for nationwide, we have also made it within the top 50 appearing at rank 47! PiP was recently awarded the highest accreditation, 3* Best Companies to Work for 2017 and have been held in suspense to find out whether we made the Top 100.
Here’s what the Sunday Times had to say…
A massive office refurbishment project helped foster a strong sense of community at Performance in People. The customer services consultancy involved staff in the design process and selection of office furniture, choosing decor that reflects the company’s Isle of Wight location.
Set up in 1999, the growing company now has over 90 employees at head office, plus a nationwide army of 35,000 mystery shoppers and assessors offering services to leading brands and retailers. Most recruitment is based on word-of-mouth recommendation, which contributes to the strong sense of family within teams (an 84% positive score).
All 10 team leaders were promoted internally, three having joined the company as apprentices and four as quality controllers. People here believe their managers care for them as individuals (87%). They also appreciate managing director Mike Dalloz’s constant positivity, even during tough times, and they have confidence in the leadership skills of the senior management team (87%).
As a sign of its commitment to becoming a carbon-neutral working environment, the firm has installed solar panels and acquired a plug-in electric Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV as the company vehicle. Staff are kept abreast of green efforts on the company noticeboard, and they feel this organisation genuinely cares about the environment (82%).
Mike Dalloz, Managing Director at Performance in People added:
“It gives me enormous pleasure for PiP to be recognised as one of the Sunday Times 100 best small companies to work for. This has been quite a journey for us. Our first entry back in 2012 achieved ‘One to Watch’ status, followed by 2 star accreditations in 2015 and 2016. So this year to achieve the highest 3 star status and form part of that elite top 100 club, is tantamount to both the amazing team of people we have and our ‘Never Give Up’ attitude!
PiP firmly believes in seeking opportunities to continually improve the workplace and provide a great working environment. There are a number of ways in which we do this; imaginative Isle of Wight themed open plan offices, sophisticated meeting pods and encouragement of health and wellbeing through personalised water bottles, gym membership contributions, yoga classes, fruit deliveries and so much more. We are excited to see what the future holds!”
