Bob Seeley, the newly elected Conservative MP for the Isle of Wight says he is committed to securing the sustainable growth of the Island’s economy by working to attract inward investment, apprenticeship training and the growth of existing businesses.

“The Isle of Wight is home to many unique industries, but we need more all-year round jobs to complement our tourism sector. The Island is fortunate to have a diverse range of specialist industries which provide employment for local people. But unemployment is still too high – especially in the winter.

“I believe that the Island’s MP must be a relentless ambassador for the Island, especially when in Westminster, to attract inward investment and business growth. In that role, I will also press government to ensure that the regulatory burden on businesses is reduced, particularly as we leave the European Union. I would be pleased to hear from local businesses what they think could be done to enable them to flourish.”

Bob Seeley says he will work with the private sector, along with the IW Council’s Regeneration Team, to promote the Isle of Wight as a good place to do business.
