The Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce will welcome Shevaun Haviland, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce to the Island for a rare and exclusive networking opportunity. Chamber members will be able to share ideas and concerns with one of the most influential people working in the British economy.
Shevaun will be meeting members at a prestigious event held at Ryde School on Wednesday 3rd April. A networking lunch will be followed by a Q&A business forum hosted by the Chamber, providing an excellent opportunity for Island business leaders to engage with Shevaun.
“Shevaun is one of the most important and influential people in UK business,” says IW Chamber Chief Executive Steven Holbrook. “At the head of the British Chambers she is the Chamber network’s representative, presenting the voice of UK business to the Prime Minister and the Chancellor. She has the ear of British business and in Whitehall she is the voice of business.
“We are excited to be able to offer this opportunity to our members as part of the Isle of Wight Chamber’s representation of the voice of Island business. We anticipate this will be a very popular event so I would encourage everyone to book early to avoid disappointment.”
Shevaun joined the British Chambers of Commerce as Director General in 2021. She joined the BCC from the Cabinet Office where she had worked for five years running the Business Partnerships team and leading the Inclusive Economy Partnership, aiming to build a stronger economy and fairer society through partnerships between government, businesses and civil society.
Prior to joining central government, Shevaun had an extensive private sector career and was at the forefront of digital innovation through her work as the Founding Director of the Academy of Digital Business Leaders and as a Director at Independents United.
