The team at Cowes Chiropractic Clinic are celebrating a £15,000 refurbishment of their Mill Hill Road location. The practice opened in 2002, with two treatment rooms, expanding to five treatment rooms in 2009.
“Business is excellent and we had outgrown our reception area,” explains Rebecca Taylor, Clinic Director. “We clearly needed more room for our admin staff and space for our patients. At the start of the year we began the work to expand our waiting room. Now our patients are happier and even more comfortable while they are waiting. We’ve also given the admin team a better working environment. There’s a very fine line between health care and business but we’re walking it happily and our patient numbers are rising consistently.”
The core of the clinic is McTimoney Chiropractic, with a staff of 10 including 5 associate chiropractors, with further associated therapists working in acupuncture, massage, homeopathy and counselling. Rebecca would like to grow the team further and is keen to recruit a sports therapist, podiatrist and physiotherapist.
“Training is very important. We do continuing professional development to keep our professional qualifications up to date. I’m also taking two of our support staff to a training conference in Barcelona this month. I came to the Island from London and Cowes has an international feel to it with a diverse mixture of people. One of my specialisms is treating racing sailors but our patients come from all walks of life. We want people to get better, know what it feels like to be truly well, tell your friends and then come back when you need us.”
