Leading Island retailer Bayliss & Booth have moved out of their previous site at Riverside in Newport to their new ‘Home on the Hill’ at Wootton Bridge. Previously a Harwoods Fiat car showroom, the premises, including the old workshop, have been transformed into the Bayliss & Booth world of contemporary and vintage furniture and accessories for the home.

The popular lifestyle and living interiors store, which has been owned by Carole and Peter Lambert for the last 11 years, enjoyed great success at the Riverside location but the time had come to expand to new premises with more visibility and importantly, with greater accessibility and more parking facilities for customers. Peter said, “We have had development plans up our sleeve for a number of years now and this new site allows the business to evolve and extend into a more contemporary market – still with a high level of style, quality and value – whilst retaining our heritage of French finds for which Bayliss & Booth has become known.”

The store in Newport was forced to close its doors earlier than expected due to the COVID-19 pandemic but it was ‘Business as (Un)usual’ for the team who have worked hard to bring a little of Bayliss & Booth to customers throughout the lockdown in addition to preparing the new store at Wootton Bridge for launch. Co-owner Carole commented, “Bayliss & Booth’s philosophy has, and always will be, to provide the very best possible personal experience for our customers.” She added, “We’re really excited to be opening our new light, airy and spacious store at Lushington and to welcoming our customers – old and new – in person.” She added, “We have embraced some new elements of multi-channel retailing over the past few months and are looking forward to continuing to develop these ideas going forward like ‘Shop The Look’ which, with regular photoshoots, brings inspiration to our Social Media followers along with the opportunity to buy the featured pieces.”
