The Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 8th October at the New Holmwood Hotel. The meeting was chaired by John Allen, President of the Isle of Wight Chamber. The Chamber’s Chief Executive Steven Holbrook shared his vision and ideas for the future of the Chamber and the meeting formally approved changes to the Chamber Board.
John Irvine of WightFibre was elected unopposed to serve a second 3-year term of office in the category General Business. Tracy Osborn of Quarr Abbey was elected to the board in the category of Tourism, Leisure & Retail. Rob Holgate of AJ Wells was elected unopposed to serve a second 3-year term of office in the category Manufacturing. Karen Lucas from Vikoma and Rob Stewart from Aluminium Marine both stood down from the board after completing their second 3-year term of office. Helen Farrant of Liz Earle Beauty company was elected to the board in the category Manufacturing. Sarah Chatwin of ERMC was elected to the board in the category Professional and Business Services.
Steve Porter was appointed for a further year as Chairman of the Chamber Board. John Allen announced Jonathan Thornton of PC Consultants as Vice President of the Chamber.
The AGM also recognised long-standing members with a Gold award presented to Island Hire Centre marking 35 years in membership. Medtec Design Services were also presented with their Gold award from 2020.
Silver award were presented to New Holmwood Hotel marking 20 years of membership.
Bronze member certificates, marking 10 years of membership, were presented to D&S Carpets and Vic’s Stores (Londis).
