This month we look at Corporate Hospitality on the Island. We talk to Suzanne Godley, operations manager at Island Harbour Marina.
Suzanne says their waterside setting is a unique selling point. “It’s the surroundings, the tranquillity, away from the hustle and bustle with privacy and without interruptions. The Island is a lovely place and it’s attractive to mainland businesses. Island businesses come for breakfast meetings, evening dining and a lot of staff parties for events like celebrating hitting targets.”
Suzanne appreciates that much of their business comes from Islanders. “Our main aim of focus is the community and the locals who are there all year round. If you come as a business you leave and you remember it; if you’re happy you return. Any sort of interest is important and really matters. We do have a lot to offer and some of it is new. We don’t want to be “the Island’s best kept secret” any more. We’re not a closed marina, we’re open to everyone, for everything, on any occasion. 2013 was a massive learning curve. Everything was new here with us but from the feedback we’re getting, we’re very optimistic. I think 2014 will be a lot bigger and better.”
