Ron Jacobs from Cowes won the Isle Of Wight Lottery’s monthly £4,000 prize in August.
“I’ve been playing virtually since the start and it’s the first time I’ve ever won so it was a big surprise and a lovely one too,” Ron tells us. “I used to work at Westlands so I signed up through payroll in 2001. I support anything that supports the Island. With national charities I’m never really sure where the money goes to, but I’ll put my hand in my pocket for anything here on the Island. Knowing that the Isle Of Wight Lottery is supporting jobs here on the Island is important to me. I haven’t really decided what to do with it. I do need a new boiler. It’s not very exciting I know but the money will come in very handy.”
Zoe Stroud from the Chamber Of Commerce says: “We give away £4,000 every month, and £2,000 every week. It’s still only a pound to play the Isle Of Wight Lottery each week and it’s creating and supporting real jobs here on the Island.”
