The Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce’s Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 16th October at the New Holmwood Hotel in Cowes. Members came together for lunch and to vote on items of business, including new appointments to the board.
David Groocock has completed his term as Chamber President and Geoff Underwood of IFPL was duly appointed to replace him for a three year period. John Owen has completed his second term of office as Chairman of the Chamber’s Main Board and Steve Porter was appointed to replace him.
Karen Lucas of Vikoma International Ltd was elected to the Professional & Business Services board. Tina Jennings of Liz Earle Beauty Co Ltd was elected to the Tourism, Leisure & Retail board, where John Allen was also re- elected for a second 3-year term of office. Rob Stewart of Aluminium Marine Consultants Ltd was elected to the Manufacturing & Logistics board.
There were also presentations for Long Standing Membership, with Vikoma International Ltd picking up a Gold award. Engineering Director Neil Plater received the certificate in recognition of 35 years of membership.
Den Clare’s Hypnotherapy Consultancy was awarded Silver status with 20 years of membership. Bronze awards were collected by Jon Pridham of Cowes Yacht Haven, Peter Pusey of Dinosaur Isle, Marc Tuckey of the Isle of Wight Ghost Experience and Lizzie Wade of Isle of Wight Pearl, all to mark 10 years of Chamber membership.
