Your Future has been hailed a resounding success, with hundreds of Island young people attended the job fair to learn more about careers options. The event was a partnership between the Isle of Wight Council, the Isle of Wight College and the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce. The Island’s business community was well represented with companies from a wide range of sectors engaging with potential future employees. Platform One, Job Centre Plus, BAE Systems, Island Futures and the Isle of Wight NHS all attended, along with a number of training providers. Universities including Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Southampton, Winchester, Plymouth and Chichester also took part.

Isle of Wight Council leader,  Jonathan Bacon, said:
“There’s an amazing selection of people here today, highlighting careers but also educational opportunities that can really broaden horizons.”

The Isle of Wight Chamber Of Commerce’s Chief Executive Kevin Smith added:
“Today has been a great chance for young people to engage with the business community. It’s also been a great example of partnership and collaboration. It’s massively important that we all work together, and with the next generation too.”
